Maintenance Type Editor

Create or edit maintenance types that define recurring maintenance items for your aircraft. Configure when maintenance is due, what components it applies to, and add detailed descriptions.

What You Can Do Here
  • Set maintenance title - Name the maintenance item (e.g., "Oil Change", "Powerplant Major Overhaul")
  • Define applicability - Specify if it applies to airframe, powerplant, or propeller
  • Configure recurrence - Set how often the maintenance is due
  • Add descriptions - Write detailed notes with markdown formatting
  • Delete maintenance types - Remove maintenance types you no longer need
General Details

Tap the General Details card to configure basic information:

  • Applies to Airframe - Toggle on if this maintenance applies to the airframe
  • Applies to Powerplant - Toggle on if this maintenance applies to engines
  • Applies to Propeller - Toggle on if this maintenance applies to propellers

Tips
  • Card-based editing - Only one card can be expanded at a time
  • Remember to save - Watch for the "NOT SAVED" indicator
  • Use Equipment Hours - Most engine maintenance is tracked by equipment hours, not calendar time
  • Use generic types - Enable "Is Generic" to reuse maintenance types across multiple aircraft
  • Add details - Include specific procedures in the description for future reference
  • Permission required - You need Maintainer or higher permission to edit maintenance types
  • Admin to delete - You need Admin or higher permission to delete maintenance types
